Individual Therapy
We will start by completing an initial intake and assessment. In the initial assessment, I will get to know you, your experiences, and the challenges you are facing. We will identify what your goals are for therapy- the vision that you have for yourself.
Together, we will create a treatment agreement, which will connect your goals and vision with the skills and offerings I hold that might be helpful to you. Once we have established our treatment agreement, we will start with the goal that feels most important to you and explore what’s getting in your way of actualizing this goal, discovering new pathways to overcome these challenges, and living the life you most desire!
Couples Counseling or Marriage Counseling
Couples therapy isn't only necessary during a time of crisis, it can also be useful to manage recurring conflict, work out a specific problem, and explore more effective ways to communicate with one another or underlying issues. The process for couples is similar to that of my individual services initially.
In couples counseling, new perspectives about each other, communication strategies, and the way you relate to one another are explored. Couples counseling includes “skills work” to help you do something different, as well as helping you explore your feelings and thoughts with your partner.
Group Therapy
Historically, group therapy has proven helpful for people to notice and process interpersonal problems they may experience and learn new skills to communicate with others in their own lives. Research has also shown that group therapy can be more effective than individual therapy for many people due to the ability to receive and provide feedback to others in the group. Ultimately, we are all connected as human beings and there has been a multitude of events, we’ve all endured together as a society in the past several years. Group members are welcome to talk about their experiences and feelings during this time, as well as what they could get from the group currently.
